The suspect, identified as Abdullahi Adamu, was apprehended during a raid carried out by operatives of the security outfit comprising the Army and the State Security Service (SSS).According to The Nation, the raid, which took place at the Ijora 7-Up area of Lagos, came after a tip-off on the activities of a terror network allegedly co-ordinated by Iranians. Dr. Dre has been doing for decades. Recently he’s spent more time making good money—$620 million last year, the highest annual payday of any musician ever, thanks to Apple’s $3 billion Beats buy—which is why it’s something of a surprise that he ranks No. 4 with $33 million, the result of smaller checks from Apple. Niger state residents roast Sani Bello for traveling to watch Chelsea - Arsenal match

Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani has come under criticism following his trip to London to watch Saturday’s Premier League game between Chelsea and Arsenal. Residents of the state on Monday described the governor’s visit to Stamford Bridge as “frivolous” considering the financial problems of the state. However, the governor explained on his Twitter page that he was at Stamford Bridge to watch the match at the instance of Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi, who plans to set up a football academy in the state. “I was at Stamford Bridge to watch the derby between Chelsea and Arsenal at the invitation of John Obi Mikel,” he wrote. According to him, Mikel approached the state government to partner with the state in developing its sports, stressing that it will be wrong to turn down an investor who is willing to invest in the state. The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ibraheem Dooba, said Bello was in Europe and his visit to Stamford Bridge was part of his itinerary since he was to meet other international development partners, adding that he was invited by Mikel. But a trader, Moses Akwu said, “Things are hard for us in Niger while our governor is travelling to watch matches. I heard they said he was invited but is it not government resources that he used to go on the trip? “We did not vote him in to watch football, we voted him because we want him to work and bring back the lost glory of the state. Watching matches is not governance, it is absolute recklessness.” Another resident, Gambo Mohammed, said the governor needed to focus on governance. “Sports development is not what Niger State needs now. We need jobs for our unemployed youths, boost for our economy and agriculture, and good roads.” Bello had on August 31 warned sports officials not to use his name to organise sports competitions. He made this known when board members of the Nigeria Chess Federation and the state hockey team that won the National Super League visited him. The President of Nigeria Chess Federation Suleman Gora had requested to organise a national championship in his honour which he objected saying, “I am not a billboard.”

Buhari to visit USA next week

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria will addresses the 70th United Nations General Assembly at the global body’s headquarters in New York on September 28. However, President Buhari is set to assist Burkina Faso on resolving their political crisis and host an Extraordinary Summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). NG-[A_BA[MCLO_CASU_ALLB]:Men_Polo_728x90 The president is scheduled to reveal Nigeria’s final status report on the operation of the MDGs. There is also to be a side-event hosted by Nigeria on Health, HIV/AIDS and Strengthening the Implementation of the SDGs during the General Assembly. Hilary Ogbonna, acting regional coordinator for Africa, United Nations Millennium Campaign at the United Nations, confirmed that Nigerian leader is set to address the Assembly. He called attention to the major zones that Buhari could show commitments to in his address to the UN Assembly. Ogbonna said: “One of the major aspects that you need to know about the MDGs is that it focused on the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic dimension, the social dimension and the environmental dimension. Nigeria should be a leading voice on climate change. “Nigeria does not emit much of fossils, of carbon dioxide. But Nigeria, like most parts of Africa, is feeling the pinch. Lake Chad is also disappearing. So, Nigeria needs to be a leading voice on that. Nigeria needs to speak very strongly on climate change and how it impacts on poor people in this country. Nigeria needs to also speak strongly about global partnerships. It needs to show that it is open for business. Nigeria needs partnership and investment, not aids, and so also does the rest of Africa. Those are some of the things we would want Buhari to say. “We will also want President Buhari to speak that his government is being reformed, that governance in Nigeria is being reformed. He should make commitments to come back home and pursue the fight against corruption effectively, because unless you have a corruption free society, you cannot be talking about achieving sustainable development.” He added: “Nigeria also needs to talk about the financing of the post- 2015 development agenda, financing, using local innovative means, especially in an environment that has this global oil crisis that we are facing now. This means that we need to develop other sources of revenue accruals. The President needs to speak on that. But beyond speaking on that, he needs to come home and implement that. Nobody can develop your country more than you. Whatever he says at the General Assembly, he needs to address them at home. “He also needs to address the fact the insurgency is robbing the Northern part of Nigeria human development, and until those insurgencies are taken care of, the North East may not actually speak of implementing the SDGs.” It will be the second trip to the United States since Buhari became Nigerian president. American President Barack Obama hosted Nigeria’s recently elected president at the White House on Monday, July 20, where the two discussed cooperation between the two countries. Apple's first electric car to be shipped in 2019

NG-[A_BA[MCLO_CASU_ALLB]:Men_Polo_728x90 A new report says Apple is speeding up work on a project that could lead to the California tech giant building its own electric car. The Wall Street Journal says Apple has set an internal timetable for a project, code-named Titan, that involves development of an electric vehicle. The newspaper said Apple has set a “ship date” of 2019, although that could just be a target for engineers to sign off on the design — not when a car would be available for sale. Apple declined comment today on the report, which cited unnamed sources. In recent months, Apple Inc. has hired experts in automotive and battery technology. Officials at an automotive testing facility located east of San Francisco have also confirmed that Apple requested information about using their site
