Where is 'Stylplus'..
The once popular R&B group Styl Plus make up of Shifi Omoefe, Zeal Onyecheme and Tunde Akinsanmi have finally broken up to p
ursue solo careers. Tunde has made his debut as a solo artiste with the single, ‘In Your Eyes’ and has changed his stage name to Native Boy. He has also established his own record label, B.A.T Records. Styl Plus was one of the hit-makers in the Nigerian music scene in 2003 when they released two monster hits, Olufunmi and Runaway. It was said that the move to go in diffe
rent directions was first made by Zeal, who was frustrated by the group’s inability to maintain the standard it created in 2003. He is expected to hit the airwaves with his solo effort next year. “Zeal is already talking to a big Nigerian music star about the possibility of being signed to his label. He is frustrated like the other members, but he is the one who is making the move to start a solo career,” a source said. The group’s 11-track debut album, ‘Expressions’ was released in February 2006, but only two cuts, ‘Imagine That’ and ‘Iya Basira’ were hits. Later, there were speculations that Styl Plus was on the verge of breaking up, but they debunked it in a follow up single, ‘Four Years.’ Shifi, Tunde and Zeal first met at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, in the late 90s. There, they forged a friendship and a music group that would redefine the R&B music in Nigeria was formed. They were likened to America’s Boys 2 Men. But their slide began with their obstinate refusal to relocate to Lagos, the nerve-centre of entertainment. This would be compounded by a poor second album, ‘Back and Better’ which saw the ratings of the group drop dramatically.

Ahmed Mohamed: Barack Obama invites detained Muslim teenager to take his clock to the White House
President Barack Obama has voiced his support for the 14- year-old Muslim teenager arrested by police after taking a homemade clock to school.
As reports said police from Irving, Texas, had decided they would not charge Ahmed Mohamed with making a hoax bomb - as his family had been told they might - Mr Obama invited the teenager to take his clock to the White House. Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great.
"Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House?," he said. "We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great." .@anildash @IStandWithAhmed we would love to have Ahmed visit us at MIT! — Chanda (王嬋娟) (@IBJIYONGI) September 16, 2015 Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also voiced his support for the schoolboy. Engineers from Google, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and NASA also offered their support and a tour of their facilities. "Having the skill and ambition to build something cool should lead to applause, not arrest. The future belongs to people like Ahmed," Mr Zuckerberg wrote on his own page. Ahmed Mohamed was arrested for taking his homemade clock to school in Texa
s The teenager told The Independent that he had lost his innocence after being detained by police and that he had been made to feel like a criminal. “I like science, but I look like a threat because of my brown skin," he said. As outcry over his arrest grew, people voiced their support for the youngster on twitter using the hashtag #IStandWithAhmed The White House spokesman, Josh Earnest, told reporters that Ahmed had been invited to its astronomy night next month with NASA astronauts and other young people. "In this instance, it's clear that at least some of Ahmed's teachers failed him. That's too bad," he said, according to the Associated Press.

#istandwithAhmed trending: Why Ahmed Mohammed suddenly became Obama, Zuckerberg's favourite?
Washington:What if your 14-year-old gets arrested for an invention which could be termed as a revolution but targetted because you belong to a minority community. Well, a similar thing happened with a Muslim boy in the US, who was detained after his homemade clock was mistook to be a bomb, has been applauded and invited by the White House, Facebook and Google for his innovation. Ahmed Mohamed, an engineering enthusiast, brought the clock to his high school in Irving, Texas, on Monday to show one of his teachers which she mistook to be a bomb. Hours later, he was handcuffed'and arrested by school resource officers as part of “standard procedure”. Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great. — President Obama (@POTUS) September 16, 2015The incident has created an outrage in the country with messages of support pouring from President Barack Obama, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. “Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great,” Obama tweeted. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that Obama like many others were struck by these reports. Hey Ahmed- we're saving a seat for you at this weekend's Google Science Fair...want to come? Bring your clock! #IStandwithAhmed — Google Science Fair (@googlescifair) September 16, 2015“In this instance, it’s clear that at least some of Ahmed’s teachers failed him. That’s too bad, but it’s not too late for all of us to use this as a teachable moment and to search our own conscience for biases in whatever form they take,” he said. “This episode is a good illustration of how pernicious stereotypes can prevent even good-hearted people who have dedicated their lives to educating young people from doing the good work that they set out to do,” Earnest said. “So Obama was pleased to extend an invitation to Ahmed to participate in Astronomy Night that will be hosted here at the White House next month,” he said. Astronomy Night will bring together government scientists and NASA astronauts and others to spend some time with young people examining the wonders of the heavens, and it’ll be an opportunity for them to talk about science and our solar system and the universe. “It should be good event, and I think that—or at least we are hopeful, that Ahmed will feel right at home here,” Earnest said. Leading Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton too came out in support of Ahmed. “Assumptions and fear don’t keep us safe they hold us back. Ahmed, stay curious and keep building,” she tweeted. Zuckerberg publicly defended and praised Mohamed. “Having the skill and ambition to build something cool should lead to applause, not arrest. The future belongs to people like Ahmed,” he said. “Ahmed, if you ever want to come by Facebook, I’d love to meet you,” he added. Google also invited Mohamed to take part in its science fair, urging him: “Bring your clock!” Meanwhile, Irving's police chief announced Wednesday that charges won't be filed against Mohamed.

Chris Brown just scored an enormous victory in
his child custody war with his baby mama ... he
got joint custody of Royalty, and he gets to take
her home today ... TMZ has learned. Brown and
Nia Guzman squared off in a Houston court
Friday morning. She not only wanted to deny
Chris any custodial rights, she also only wanted
to give him supervised visitation. The judge
disagreed and we've learned Chris and Nia will
share 50/50 physical custody, with Royalty going
back and fourth every 4 days. Both Chris and Nia
now live in L.A. And Chris, who was in court
represented by Mark Geragos, scored another
a month in child support, which is exactly what
he's been paying her. She wanted $15k. The
judge also ordered Nia not to talk crap on Chris
and not reveal anything about the case on social
media. 2:00 PM PT -- Nia's legal team has a
positive outlook on the hearing. We're told they
see it as merely a temporary victory for Chris,
since there will be a mediation in weeks to come
-- and child support payments will be addressed.
Also, Chris agreed that his mother would always
be present when he has custody of Royalty.
