A writer who said he would streak down Whitehall if UKIP secured more than 6% of the popular vote in the general election has kept his pledge - sort of.
Telegraph blogger Dan Hodges tweeted last May that he would streak naked "in a Nigel Farage mask whilst singing Land of Hope and Glory" if the party performed better than he forecast. In fact, UKIP secured 12.6% of the national vote. However, when he turned up on the cold, wet streets of Westminster on Thursday morning to live up to his promise, there was no sign of the mask. And with the looming risk of being arrested for nudity in public Mr Hodges did the run in a pair of black shorts and trainers. As he made his way to the starting point in the rain, he tweeted: "Heading up for Naked Streak. Though it may have to be renamed Naked Swim."
