Who rocks it Better The Boy or Olamide

Both looking good though....

Drinking Alcohol moderately not good

Studies which suggest that drinking alcohol moderately has health benefits are flawed, according to new research.

Previous studies have suggested that drinking alcohol, for example a glass of wine, can cut the risk of heart disease.

However, a study reviewing 87 past research papers concluded that the idea that drinking at a reasonable level was flawed.

Canadian researchers claimed that the studies were biased, poorly designed and pointed to positive effects that were unlikely in reality.

The team behind the study published in the ‘Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs’ also highlighted concerns about groups of “abstainers” who were compared to moderate drinkers, despite giving up drinking due to ill health.

This meant that those who were classed as drinking occasionally, at fewer than one drink per week, lived the longest.
But by taking into account study design issues, such as the abstainers, researchers found that moderate drinking had no link to longevity.

And Dr Stockwell said he doubted that drinking infrequently was the reasons that “occasional” drinkers had lower mortality rates because the level of alcohol in their bodies was “biologically insignificant”.

“A fundamental question is, who are these moderate drinkers being compared against?” said lead author Dr Tim Stockwell, director of the University of Victoria's Centre for Addictions Research in British Columbia, Canada.

Of the 87 studies assessed, only 13 did not have an issue with the selection of abstainers.

Therefore, alcohol should not be linked to people being healthier, said Dr Stockwell.

The study assessed health in terms of drinking in general, rather than specific types of drink.

Dr Stockwell said: “There's a general idea out there that alcohol is good for us, because that's what you hear reported all the time, but there are many reasons to be sceptical.”

Dr Harshal Kirane, director of Addiction Services at Staten Island University Hospital in New York, who was not involved with the study, told CBS News that the research “highlights the limitations of past efforts to characterize the impact of low-volume alcohol use

Cure For HIV now available?.

For years, people were wondering when can they stop wearing condoms while having s*x with their partners, well it looks like the time is right around the corner.

It seems the long awaited cure for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) – a lentivirus that causes HIV infection and over time acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, AIDS, has been invented by scientists.

Below is how popular U.S gossip website, MediaTakeOut reported the story;

For years, people were wondering WHEN CAN THEY REMOVE THEIR CONDOMS . . . well it looks like it’s right around the corner.

Scientists have for the FIRST TIME EVER – proved that they can CURE HIV. Yesterday scientists CONFIRMED that they were able to edit out HIV-1 DNA from the genome of human immune cells, preventing virus replication and reinfection of the cleared cells.

In layman’s language, they used GENE THERAPY to cure HIV in HUMAN cells.

Dr. Kamel Khalili, director of the Comprehensive NeuroAIDS Center at Temple University claims that they are ready to put his new gene therapy into a new drug that will cure HIV in patients even after they stop taking the drugs.

“The findings are important on multiple levels. They demonstrate the effectiveness of our gene editing system in eliminating HIV from the DNA of CD4 T-cells and, by introducing mutations into the viral genome, permanently inactivating its replication. Further, they show that the system can protect cells from reinfection and that the technology is safe for the cells, with no toxic effects,” Khalili said in a press release.

FG declares March 25 and 28 has public holiday

The Federal Government has declared Friday, March 25 and Monday, March 28 as public holidays to mark the Good Friday and Easter celebrations respectively.

The Minister of Interior, Retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the declaration in a statement issued by the acting Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido on Tuesday in Abuja.

The minister urged Christians and Nigerians in general to support and join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari in his sustained efforts to build a peaceful, united and virile nation.

He further urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the nation.

While wishing Nigerians and Christians the world over happy celebrations, Dambazau also reiterated Federal Government’s commitment to the change agenda in the country.

See Names of Brussel bombers

Two brothers have been named by local media as the suicide bombers behind the Brussels Airport attacks that killed at least 11 people and injured up to 100.

Belgium’s state broadcaster RTBF has named Khalid and Ibrahim el-Bakraoui as the two men who detonated suitcase bombs, killing themselves and several others, at Zaventem airport.

It is a potentially significant development as it recently emerged the el-Bakraoui brothers had clear links to November’s Paris attacks – where 130 people were murdered at the Bataclan, Stade de France and at restaurants and cafés around the capital by jihadists from the so-called Islamic State.

The brothers are suspected of hiring out properties as hideouts for the Paris terror team.

They are, however, well known by authorities for organised crime rather than terrorism.

The BBC has also quoted a Belgian newspaper, La Derniere Heure, claiming the third man in the airport CCTV image of three men handed out police is Najim Laachraoui.

Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure said Khalid el-Bakraoui was being sought for terrorist activities while Ibrahim was reportedly on the run after a sentence for other criminal activity.

Belgium has entered its second day of mourning after twin explosions at the airport and another at a metro station on Tuesday left at least 31 dead and 250 wounded.

Arnold Schwarzenegger walks out of interview when questioned about Donald Trump

'This is an interview that I only do about fitness and health, not about politics,' says Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger might have been dubbed a “friend” by Donald Trump, but the former California governor has outrightly refused to answer any questions about his billionaire buddy in an awkward interview in Australia.
The 68-year-old actor and bodybuilder brought an abrupt end to an interview on Network 7's Weekend Sunrise program on Saturday morning when asked about the Republican presidential frontrunner.
“This is an interview that I only do about fitness and health, not about politics or my relationships,” Schwarzenegger told host Angela Cox before abruptly terminating the interview.
The journalist’s interest was no doubt piqued by the fact Schwarzenegger will be overtaking Trump’s previous role as host on the Celebrity Apprentice.

Earlier this month, Schwarzenegger endorsed Republican candidate and Ohio Govenor John Kashich in a series of social media posts before joining the candidate at a rally in Columbus in Ohio.

Kendrick Lamar surprises fans by releasing new eight-track album

Kendrick Lamar has surprised fans by releasing a new album on Thursday, called untitled unmastered. It appears to be a companion work to his critically acclaimed 2015 album To Pimp a Butterfly.

Filled with the free jazz, funk, politically charged lyrics and experimental sounds that made To Pimp a Butterfly such an instant classic, all eight of the songs are untitled but bear a date seemingly indicating they were recorded in 2013-14 (with the exception of the seventh track: untitled 07 2014-2016).

The basketballer LeBron James tweeted to the artist and Anthony Tiffith, the chief executive of Top Dawg Entertainment, the independent hip-hop label Lamar is signed to: “you have to release those untitled tracks asap!!!”

Tiffith wrote back that he would think about it and on Wednesday hinted at the release in an Instagram post: “Ive decided 2 drop a project 1 day this week. I won’t say wut day or who.” He later posted that fans should thank James for the new release.

When Lamar announced the release on Twitter his post was retweeted more than 43,000 times in two hours.

Africa gets its first solar-powered airport

South Africa has ramped up its green credentials by unveiling the continent's first solar-powered airport.

Located halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, George Airport will meet 41% of its energy demand from a brand new 200 square meter solar power plant built on its grounds.
The facility, which was officially launched last week, has 3,000 photovoltaic modules, and will gradually increase capacity to deliver 750Kw power when it reaches full production.

It cost just over a million dollars to build, and is part of South Africa's commitment to introduce a mix of energy sources to all its airports.
"As an airports management company running nine airports nationally, part of our strategic objective is to minimize our environmental impact," Skhumbuzo Macozoma, chairman of the Airports Company South Africa Board said in a statement.

Spanish Authorities Seizes 20,000 Military Uniforms Meant for ISIL fighters

Spanish authorities seized 20,000 military-style uniforms being sent to fighters of the Islamic State and the Nusra Front, the Interior Ministry announced Thursday.

Police conducted a counterterrorism operation last month in the port cities of Valencia and Algeciras, where officers opened three shipping containers and found the uniforms along with other military accessories, the ministry said. The uniforms were mixed with “secondhand clothing” to avoid raising suspicion while passing through customs.

The ministry said in a statement that police arrested seven people on suspicion of providing logistical and financial support to ISIS and the Nusra Front, an Al Qaeda affiliate in Syria. The New York Times reported that five of the seven people were Spanish citizens.
Spanish authorities released a video showing a large pile of the camouflage clothing, according to The New York Times. An Interior Ministry spokesman told the paper the uniforms were not made in Spain and an investigation was underway to see where they came from.
The police operation “neutralized a very active and efficient business network whose primary purpose was to supply, maintain and strengthen” the Islamic State, the statement said.
Spanish police didn’t say where the uniforms were intended to go to.

Nigeria to break up loss-making state oil firm NNPC

Nigeria is Africa's largest oil producer
Nigeria's loss-making state oil giant is to be broken up into 30 "profit-making" companies, the government says.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has been mired in corruption allegations and losing money for many years.
Despite pressure to sell it off, the government says that it can transform the NNPC into a profitable enterprise.
Nigeria is Africa's biggest oil producer, but the economy has suffered because of the declining oil price.
Can Nigeria defeat oil corruption?
Oil Minister Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu said that the NNPC's monthly losses have rapidly declined and now stand at $15m (£11m).

He told an audience in the capital, Abuja, that it would soon be in profit, an NNPC statement says.
Mr Kachikwu, a former top official at ExxonMobil, was appointed to head the NNPC last year after President Muhammadu Buhari won elections and was then also named junior oil minister.
Mr Buhari has vowed to tackle corruption in the country.

Revenue from the oil sector is a big contributor to government income
In 2013, then central bank governor Lamido Sanusi said that the NNPC had failed to account for billions of dollars of earnings.
Nigeria's government benefits from revenues from the sale of the country's oil by several private oil companies which also operate in the country.
Mr Kachikwu also announced that some oil producing countries will be meeting on 20 March to see if they can work together to end the instability in the oil price.
Nigeria has introduced foreign exchange controls and import bans in an effort to maintain the value of the currency, the naira, in the face of pressure over the declining oil price.

Oscar Pistorius denied leave to appeal for conviction of murder

South African athlete Oscar Pistorius has been denied leave to appeal against his conviction for murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The Constitutional Court has made the ruling, meaning Pistorius will now be sentenced in April.

Pistorius killed Ms Steenkamp in February 2013 after firing four times through a locked toilet door.
A manslaughter verdict was overturned in December and a murder verdict introduced in its place.
Oscar Pistorius, fallen hero
Analysis: Justice served
South Africa's National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said the Constitutional Court found "no prospect of success" in Pistorius' appeal.
The case will now go back to Judge Thokozile Masipa - who cleared the athlete of murder in the original case - for sentencing on 18 April.
Prosecutors are believed to be targeting a sentence of at least 15 years in jail for Pistorius.
Analysis - The BBC's Pumza Fihlani in Johannesburg
This is the end of the road for Oscar Pistorius. The Constitutional Court was his last chance to overturn his murder conviction.
Many in the country felt that judge Thokozile Masipa had erred when she convicted him of a lesser charge, but some still believed Pistorius had not intended to kill anyone, let alone Reeva Steenkamp.
Now a full bench of the country's most powerful judges has ruled that Pistorius' latest bid has no chance of succeeding.
The next step now is for the two legal teams to present their arguments about the length of his sentence - and the state wants no less than 15 years.
He is currently under house arrest after spending one year of his original five-year sentence in jail.
In December, South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeal ruled that the lower court under Judge Masipa had not applied correctly the rule of dolus eventualis - whether Pistorius knew that a death would be a likely result of his actions.
Justice Eric Leach said that having armed himself with a high-calibre weapon, Pistorius must have foreseen that whoever was behind the door might die, especially given his firearms training.
Pistorius has always maintained he believed he was shooting at an intruder.

14years old Ese to remain in Police Custody after father confirms pregnancy

The
father of Ese Oruru, the 14-year old girl who was allegedly abducted, converted to Islam and forcibly married by a Kano indigene Yunusa Danladi, on Thursday, confirmed that his daughter was five months pregnant.
Charles Oruru confirmed that his daughter was truly pregnant, but noted that he had left the next line of action for government and Nigeria’s security agencies.
He confirmed that her daughter was hale and healthy, though he expressed sadness that the issue was becoming more complex.
“My daughter is hale and healthy. I have seen her and she’s very fine.” When pressed further whether it was true that his daughter had been confirmed to be pregnant, he said, “that is it”.
Oruru, who’s in his fifties, was obviously agitated by the questions and sought a quick end to the queries, but not before he noted that he had handed the prosecution of the young man to the authorities.
“Everything you have read in the papers is true. You have read it. Be fast about this because I am in a hurry. Have I answered your question?’’

An obviously angry Mr Oruru added, ‘’ you ask me what is the next line of action? I have left the boy who did all these to me for the government. Let the government handle his case. Hope you are satisfied now?’’, he queried.
However, it was learnt that Ese would remain in the custody of the police in Yenagoa, who have promised to take her through a rehabilitation process and shield her from the public eye till the heat generated by the saga reduces.

A press conference scheduled to hold Thursday afternoon was suddenly deferred by the police authorities, while the Police Spokesman in the state, Asinim Butswat, declined to react to the sudden change of plans.
However, Mr. Peter Ogunyawo, Commissioner of Police in the state had earlier told journalists that “We are just trying to counsel her.”
“As you can see, my wife just finished speaking with her. And that is what we intend doing in the next few days.

I'm ready for my trial to clear my name --Dasukigate

The former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), has restated his desire to have free access to his lawyers to enable him defend himself and clear allegations on the criminal charges of unlawful possession of fire arms brought against him by the federal government.

Dasuki told Federal High Court in Abuja that the Federal Government no longer has moral and legal rights to continue his trial having disobeyed the order of bail granted him since 3 November, 2015.
In his argument by his counsel, Mr. Joseph Daudu (SAN), Dasuki premised his prayer on the fact that the government is in contempt of the court in relation to the charges filed against him.
Daudu while arguing the motion claimed that since 3 November, 2015, when his client was re-arrested by operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS), after perfecting the bail conditions, he has since been held in custody without trial or reasons made known to him.
The counsel insisted that the bail order that admitted Dasuki to bail remained valid having not been reviewed or set aside by the court and as such it must be obeyed in the interest of justice.

He claimed that his client cannot be lawfully prosecuted by government because his right to prepare adequately for his defence as enshrined in the bail and the constitution has been violated because he has been kept away from his lawyers.
The counsel also stated that section 36 of the 1999 constitution presumes his client innocent until the guilt has been established against him and that for now, the provision of the law has been turned upside down by his re-arrest without trial since last year.

“We must state here that since his re-arrest at the Kuje Prison after perfecting his bail condition, we have not been allowed access to him. We are at the crossroads and only the court can right the wrong in this matter so that the defendant will have time and facilities to defend himself.
“Investors are watching the court and the situation, especially where government is choosing to disobey a lawful court. Absolutely power corrupts absolutely, and we must not send a wrong signal to the outside world that we have no regard for the rulling.
He therefore urged the court to prohibit the trial of Dasuki until the government has done the needful.
However, in his opposition to the application, counsel to the Federal Government, Mr. Dipo Okpeseyi (SAN), urged the court not to grant the application because its purpose was to frustrate the trial and restrain the power to prosecute a criminal charge.
Okpeseyi claimed that the bail granted the defendant did not prohibit his re-arrest in connection with any other matter.
Okpeseyi also claimed that no material was placed before the court to show that the government violated the bail order and that there was also no evidence that government is preventing him from defending himself.
Okpeseyi argued that merely looking at Dasuki, he is looking clean, fresh and well-catered for in the custody.
He therefore urged the court to dismiss the application.
After listening to arguments from both parties, Justice Ademola fixed ruling on the application for 4 April, 2016.

Asteroid set to whiz past Earth sometime this month

An asteroid is making a second run at Earth, this time whizzing past in the next few days.

NASA is projecting that the basketball-court-sized asteroid, 2013 TX68, should fly by from March 5 to March 8. It will be the second time the asteroid has come near Earth, passing two years ago at a comfortable distance of about 1.3 million miles.

"We already knew this asteroid, 2013 TX68, would safely fly past Earth in early March, but this additional data allow us to get a better handle on its orbital path," Paul Chodas, manager of NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS), said in a statement. "The data indicate that this small asteroid will probably pass much farther away from Earth than previously thought."

"The data indicate that this small asteroid will probably pass much farther away from Earth than previously thought."

CNEOS's latest prediction are that 2013 TX68 will fly by roughly 3 million miles from our planet. There is still a chance that it could pass closer, but certainly no closer than 15,000 miles above Earth's surface.
"There is no concern whatsoever regarding this asteroid - unless you were interested in seeing it with a telescope," said Chodas.
"Prospects for observing this asteroid, which were not very good to begin with, are now even worse because the asteroid is likely to be farther away, and therefore dimmer than previously believed."
Sean Marshall, a Cornell University grad student who works on observations of near-Earth asteroids, said the closest approach could be within Earth’s ‘ring’ of geostationary satellites or as far out as 40 times the distance to the Moon.
Related: Fireball meteor exploded over the Atlantic earlier this month
“Should this asteroid come closer than the geostationary satellites, it would be a rare occurrence -- that only happens about once per decade for large asteroids,” Marshall said in a statement. “What we know for sure is that it
will not collide with Earth this month, so do not panic.”
The asteroid was discovered by the NASA-funded Catalina Sky Survey on Oct. 6, 2013, as it approached Earth on the nighttime side. After three days of tracking, the asteroid passed into the daytime sky and could no longer be observed. Because it was not tracked for very long, scientists cannot predict its
precise orbit around the Sun.
The arrival of 2013 TX68 is just the latest space rock to mesmerize asteroid hunters.
There was a close encounter with another asteroid on Christmas Eve. In that case, asteroid 2003 SD220 passed about 6.6 million miles from Earth — or about 27 times farther than the moon is from Earth. The asteroid was not visible to the naked eye.
Less than a month later, NASA announced it was opening a special office to track asteroids.
The Planetary Defense Coordination Office formalizes the agency’s existing program for detecting and tracking near-Earth Objects. The office is located within NASA’s Planetary Science Division, which is in the agency's Science Mission Directorate in Washington.

The space agency explained that more than 13,500 near-Earth objects have been discovered to date – more than 95 percent of them since NASA-funded surveys began in 1998. About 1,500 NEOs are now detected each year, according to NASA.
There were also several meteor sightings in February – including one in India that reportedly killed man, though that has been dismissed by NASA. A fireball exploded over the Atlantic Ocean also in February and six space rocks from a meteor were found in Florida.

MTN loses bid to stop copyright infringement

A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday held that MTN Nigeria and its Chief Executive Officer, Ferdi Moolman, must face trial over alleged copyright infringements, notwithstanding
settlement with a complainant.
Justice Nnamdi Dimgba gave the ruling in an application filed by an Abuja based musician, Dovie Omenuwoma-Eniwo (a.k.a. Baba 2010) seeking a withdrawal of his complaint against MTN over alleged copyright infringement on his works.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Nigeria Copyright Commission (NCC) had filed a two-count-charge against MTN and Moolman flowing from the petition by Baba 2010.
However, following settlement and restitution by MTN over the infringement, Baba 2010 had asked for the withdrawal of his petition and the charge against the defendants.
In his decision, the judge held that the complainant had the right to withdraw his petition, but the withdrawal would not vitiate the criminal charge against MTN and Moolman.

“I hold that the withdrawal of the petition cannot per force terminate the criminal trial.
“The withdrawal of the petition and perhaps the consent judgment reached by the parties only regulates the parties’ obligations in relation to matters strictly within their control.
“The charge before the court relates to criminal proceedings, which is not affected by the civil arrangements reached between the applicant and MTN.

Chrissy Teigen Comments on Alleged Feud Between Taylor Swift and Kanye West

Chrissy Teigen Comments on Alleged Feud Between Taylor Swift and Kanye West

“Let me tell you, it’s not over. This is going to go on. This is being waged,” she said while appearing on “Watch What Happens Live!” She also said it was “hard” being “put in the middle.”

The feud between Taylor Swift and Kanye West has been one of the most intense in recent music history. It was reignited last month when Kanye dissed Taylor in his new track “Famous” and she fired back at him during her acceptance speech for Album of the Year at the 2016 Grammys.
Though we were all shocked to see Taylor throw some major shade at Kanye during the awards ceremony, it was especially difficult for Chrissy Teigen, who is friends with both of the artists. “It’s so hard when you are put in the middle like that. It’s tough,” she said during the 1000th episode of Watch What Happens Live Wednesday. “It’s so awkward. It’s just an uncomfortable moment. John [Legend] and I were very uncomfortable by it.”
So will these two ever be able to get along? Chrissy doesn’t see that happening anytime soon. “It’s not over. This is gonna go on,” she predicted.
Yeah, we have a feeling we haven’t seen the end of this beef just yet either.
Speaking of awkward moments, Chrissy also dished on her unforgettable reaction to Stacey Dash’s appearance at the Oscars Sunday.

Governor Ambode imposes curfew on Mile12 and 4 surrounding areas

The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has on Thursday following the fight that claimed properties at the popular Mile 12 market imposed a curfew on the market and on four other streets in the area.

Governor Ambode, announcing the imposed curfew at the State House in Ikeja said; “In order to further restore calm in the community, I have ordered that the Mile 12 market be temporarily shut and urge traders and other stakeholders to eschew violence and be law abiding. Furthermore, I have ordered temporary restriction of movement in four streets-Oniyanrin, Maidan, Agiliti 1 and Agiliti 2 streets.”

He further thanked the Police and other security officials who were called in to restore peace to the area. He urged the inhabitants of the affected area to live as one while sending out a note of warning to the hoodlums who perpetrated the act that they will be decisively dealt with.

“After their intervention, the dispute appeared to have subsided. Today, I have just been informed that some hoodlums and criminal elements have exploited that dispute to cause a breakdown of law and order in the community. This type of clash does occur from time to time in a multi-ethnic city like Lagos. And the government has always responded appropriately.

“The public is thereby assured that we will not shy away from our responsibilities to protect life and property in the state. we will deal decisively with those criminal elements involved in the clash. I have been assured by the commissioner of police and other security agencies at the scene that the situation has been brought under control.

“I want to assure residents of Lagos State that the state is home to every ethnic group. No one should give this clash any ethnic colouration. Every law abiding citizen should go about their businesses

Hack the Pentagon — US Government Challenges Hackers to Break its Security

The  United States Department of Defense (DoD) has the plan to boost their internal and network security by announcing what it calls "the first cyber Bug Bounty Program in the history of the federal government," officially inviting hackers to take up the challenge.
Dubbed "Hack the Pentagon," the bug bounty program invites the hackers and security researchers only from the United States to target its networks as well as the public faced websites which are registered under DoD.

The bug bounty program will begin in April 2016, and the participants could win money (cash rewards) as well as recognition for their work, DoD says.

While announcing 'Hack the Pentagon' initiative during a conference, DoD said only "Vetted Hackers" can participate in the Bug Bounty program, which means the candidates need to undergo a Background Check after registration and before finding vulnerabilities in its systems.
Moreover, candidates would be given a Predetermined Department Systems (might be real system alike) for a specific time period of the competition to access it.
So, don’t be confuse that the DoD will serve a critical piece of its infrastructure to hackers for disruption, rather the hackers will be allowed to target a predetermined system that is not part of its critical operations.
However, the Department of Defense has not yet confirmed what bounty would be provided to hackers upon a successful penetration of its network or web pages.

Here is what you need to know

The hackers, foreign and internal criminals, are actively targeting government departments and critical infrastructure that could reveal national secrets.
Last year’s massive security breach in the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) revealed the private information of over 21.5 Million US government employees.
Just last month, an unknown hacker released personal details of at least 20,000 Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents and 9,000 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officers.
Almost three years ago, the Pentagon said the Chinese government had conducted cyber attacks on the several United States diplomatic, economic as well as defense industry networks.
Therefore, the real purpose of launching dedicated bug bounty program for hackers could be a government initiative to identify vulnerabilities in its infrastructure that may expose any endangered state secrets.
Just like Bug Bounty programs offered by several Frontliners in the technology industry, Hack The Pentagon would also be an exercise for the federal authorities to boost up the security measures and counter the cyber attacks.
Instead of usual self-conducting Security Audit by the DoD internals itself, the new initiative would provide an opportunity for the fresh brains outside the Pentagon to challenge DoD infrastructure and enhance the security measures.

Rashford Has Great Potentials --Welbeck

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has told the Daily Mirror of his delight at Marcus Rashford’s impressive impact at Manchester United.
Rashford, 18, scored twice on his United debut in the Europa League last weekend before netting another brace last Sunday, as he helped inflict a 3-2 defeat on Welbeck’s Arsenal.

Like Rashford, Welbeck, 25, made his way through United’s youth setup, going on to score 20 Premier League goals in 92 appearances.
The England international, who left Old Trafford for the Gunners in 2014, said of Rashford: “We both grew up in Manchester, came through Fletcher Moss Rangers and then onto Manchester United, coming through the academy, making it into the first team and making a debut.
He has done brilliantly well. Individually I was really pleased for him, obviously to make a great debut like that in the Europa League and then into the weekend he did well.

“It was disappointing [for us] on the day. I was down when we lost that match. I’m pleased for Marcus but disappointed to lose that game.
“My brother is very close with his family. He’s known his family for a very long time and Marcus was coming through the ranks at United when I was playing in the first team and I would see him all of the time.

“He’s someone that I always spoke to. He’s a great kid. He’s very level headed. He’s got great potential and I hope he does very well. I’ve spoken to him a couple of times.
“Fletcher Moss was where it started for me and a lot of other players as well. It’s vital that they get the stature back up again, get everything running smoothly again.
“There’s a lot of talent in Manchester that grows up in and around that club. Hopefully it can keep going for many more years.”

50,000 killed in South Sudan war – UN official

At least 50,000 people have been killed in South Sudan’s two-year civil war, a senior Unitd Nations official said on Wednesday, five times more than the figure issued by humanitarian agencies in the early months of the conflict.
The world’s youngest nation descended into war in December 2013 after President Salva Kiir accused his then deputy Riek Machar of plotting to overthrow his government.
The ensuing dispute reopened ethnic fault lines between Kiir’s Dinka and Machar’s Nuer people.
“Fifty thousand killed, maybe more, 2.2 million refugees and displaced, famine coming and looming in just a few months,” Reuters news agency reports the senior official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, to say. He added that he saw little prospect of implementing an August peace deal.
The UN last month accused South Sudan’s warring parties of killing, abducting and displacing civilians, and destroying property despite conciliatory rhetoric by kiir and Machar.
After months of ineffective negotiations and failed ceasefires, both sides agreed in January to share positions in a transitional government, and last month Kiir reappointed Machar to his former post as vice president.
“Where are we on the implementation of the peace agreement? Nowhere,” the senior U.N. official said. “We see violence spreading along ethnic lines in other parts of South Sudan which had been spared so far.”
A UN panel that monitors the conflict in the country for the Security Council stated in January that Kiir and Machar are still completely in charge of their forces, and are therefore directly to blame for the killings.

US MAGAZINE CLAIMS CAITLYN JENNER IS SET TO ADOPT A BABY BOY. 👎👎👎

A US Magazine has reported that Caitlyn Jenner is set to adopt a baby boy.

The publication, which famously photoshopped a picture of Bruce as a woman, reports that she is planning on raising the child with her best friend Candis Cayne
.

A source said: “Caitlyn and Candis have thought about adopting an older child because there are a lot of trans kids whose parents have turned away, or who have run away from home. But the ideal scenario is a baby. Being a mom is Caitlyn’s dream.”

However the magazine claims the news has not gone down well with family members, in particular Kris, who thinks its “a terrible idea” and she’s just doing it for attention.

Rob Kardashian & Blac Chyna’s Surprise Baby: The Name They’ve Chosen For 1st Kid

Blac Chyna, 27, and Rob Kardashian, 28, have only been dating for just over a month, but they are reportedly already factoring a baby
into their relationship! While that may seem a little fast, it’s exactly what Rob and Blac want. In fact, they’re so excited, they’ve already picked out a name for the little one! So what will be the next Kardashian moniker?

“Rob and Blac have already chosen a baby name and it’s Robert! The choice was a logical one for Rob and Blac thinks it’s a perfect name should they have a boy,” a source revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Robert is proud to carry on his father’s name and always wanted to keep his dad’s memory alive when he starts a family. The baby name talk has all been in good fun and they are enjoying tossing around options.”

Aww, what an amazing way for Rob to honor his dad! Although Rob’s sisters and mom don’t exactly approve of his romance with Blac, surely the tribute to Robert would make them happy. Khloe, Kim, and Kourtney Kardashian all posted sweet messages to their dad on what would’ve been his 72nd birthday on Feb. 22, proving that they still miss him dearly. And considering Rob is the only one that can continue the family name, it’s only right to do so by paying homage to Robert!

Then again, if Blac has a girl, the Kardashian ladies may be even more upset than they already are about Rob’s relationship with her. “They still don’t know what they would use as a middle name for the child,” the source added. “However, another thing Rob and Blac can agree on is that if they ever have a girl, her name will not start with a K.”

Oh boy. Rob’s name doesn’t start with a K, maybe it doesn’t mean as much to him — but we’re thinking that’s not why they won’t choose a “K” name. Blac seems to love the drama her relationship with Rob is causing with his family, so she likely played a big part in deciding against the family tradition!

Whatever happens, Rob has seemingly been ready to have Baby Kardashian since he started dating Blac in late January. So hopefully he’ll convince his fam that having a baby with Blac is a great thing — no matter how they feel about the name!

What do you think of Blac and Rob’s baby name choice, do you think they’d make good parents? Tell us below!

Bukola Saraki Replies Obasanjo's Letter Promises to plug leakages

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has formally replied a letter written to the National Assembly on January 13 by former President Olusegun Obasanjo wherein
federal lawmakers were accused of corruption, greed, lawlessness and impunity.
The Senate President, in the two-page response dated January 29 and exclusively obtained by Premium Times, addressed concerns raised in the former President’s letter by assuring that the National Assembly he leads was already taking deliberate steps to strengthen the country’s democratic institutions and ensure prudent management of resources.
According to him, “This is to ensure that we plug all leakages and minimize waste across our expenditure systems.

“Likewise, the 8th National Assembly has made the issue of plugging leakages and cutting wastages in our public expenditure system a major priority that should not be toyed with. This may have happened in the past but it will not happen with us.”
It would be recalled that Obasanjo had in his letter, addressed to Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, accused the lawmakers of fixing and earning salaries and allowances far above what was approved for them by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC
He also alleged that most of the 109 senators and 369 members of the House of Representatives were receiving constituency allowances without maintaining constituency offices as the laws required of them.

While faulting the plans by the lawmakers to acquire new exotic cars for themselves as “unnecessary and insensitive,” he advised that “a pool of a few cars for each chamber will suffice for any Committee Chairman or members for any specific duty.”
Obasanjo wrote that “The waste that has gone into cars, furniture, housing renovation in the past was mind-boggling and these were veritable sources of waste and corruption. That was why they were abolished. Bringing them back is inimical to the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians.”
But Saraki, in his response, told the former President that the lawmakers were fully aware of the challenges confronting the nation, assuring that “As leaders with a duty, we will not disappoint Nigerians in their yearnings for a more transparent public expenditure systemsystem.

Saraki, who stated that the National Assembly was working with President Muhammadu Buhari to stem the tide of corruption in the country, disclosed that the legislature was already overhauling its oversight functions to make it more effective in exposing corruption in federal ministries, departments and agencies.
“We are hand in glove with the president on this matter and this is why we are overhauling our oversight functions to make it more effective in exposing corruption in the Ministries, Departments and Agencies,” the Senate President wrote, adding that “We recognize the hard work our anti-corruption agencies are putting into this fight.
“The Senate is resolved to support them to perform their duty effectively by providing them with adequate funding where necessary, as their work in integral to our oversight responsibility.”

Burundi launches drive to register all foreigners

Burundi launched a drive Tuesday to register all foreigners, sparking fears among overseas nationals that the scheme could be a pretext for government surveillance.
All non-Burundians in the crisis-hit country will be required to report to border police offices in the coming two months, according to a public security ministry spokesman
.
Several foreigners told AFP they feared it was a pretext to track them, and Rwandans said the process could lead to their community being victimised.
But Public Security Minister Alain-Guillaume Bunyoni insisted last month that the move was aimed at granting foreigners a biometric ID card.

Foreign nationals — who also include people from West Africa including Congolese, as well as Indians — will be required to attend police stations in person and carry their travel documents.

“We don’t know how the police will use this data and with the violence that has already struck the Rwandan community… I think that I will also have to leave he country,” said a Rwandan national born in Burundi 40 years ago.
Thousands of Rwandans who lived in Burundi have fled the country since the start of the crisis after several arrests within their community.

Relations between Burundi and Rwanda are at a low ebb, with Bujumbura and the United Nations accusing Kigali of supporting Burundian rebels.
Burundi was plunged into crisis following over President Pierre Nkurunziza’s bid for a third term which he went on to win in a July election.
More than 400 people have been killed since the violence erupted in April and more than 240,000 have fled

Astronaut returns after a year in space

US astronaut Scott Kelly and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko have touched down on Earth after almost a year in space.

Their 340-day mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS) is twice the length of a normal stay.
Their extended tour is part of an effort to study the effects of long-duration spaceflight on the body.
But scientists will gain further insights by comparing Scott Kelly with his Earthbound identical twin, Mark.
A Soyuz capsule carrying Kelly, Kornienko and Russian crew member Sergey Volkov parachuted down on to a steppe in Kazakhstan at 10:26 local time (04:26 GMT).
The mission is a record for the ISS and will give Cmdr Kelly a tally of 520 cumulative days in space, over four flights.
Cmdr Kelly has also returned rocket (salad) seeds that were taken up to the orbiting outpost by UK astronaut Tim Peake in December. They will be distributed to schools to allow pupils to compare their growth with rocket plants that have stayed on Earth.

The idea behind the twin study is to help minimise extraneous factors as scientists research how genetically identical individuals respond to different conditions over a year.
The harsh space environment takes its toll in the form of muscle atrophy, sleep problems, bone loss, vision impairment and radiation exposure. But some of the most pronounced effects are on the mind.
Before landing, Cmdr Kelly told reporters during a live link-up: "Physically I feel pretty good... but the hardest part is being isolated in the physical sense from people on the ground who are important to you. There's a loss of connection."
From Kazakhstan, Cmdr Kelly will be flown to Houston in the US, where researchers at the US space agency (Nasa) will begin a series of scientific checks.
Mark Kelly, who was an astronaut, now retired, has been undergoing tests of his own on Earth during his brother's sojourn on the ISS.
Comparisons between the twins should allow scientists to deepen their understanding of the subtle physical and psychological shifts that occur during long stays on orbit.
Nasa says the research should inform its stated aim of one day sending humans to Mars.
After returning from an extended stay in the weightless environment of space, many astronauts have difficulty walking unaided.
Shortly after landing, Kelly, Kornienko and Volkov will enter a medical tent to participate in a series of "field tests" that will assess their balance, co-ordination and ability to walk.
Returning ISS crews have immediate access to medical assistance, but future crews to Mars will have little time to recover once they land on the Red Planet's surface. Scientists want to devise ways to prevent injury and improve their recovery time.
"We go through about an hour of field tests of various kinds - one is even like an obstacle course, where you run around, stand up from a sitting position and jump," Cmdr Kelly said.
Despite the length of their flight, Kelly and Kornienko are still some way shy of the record for the longest single spaceflight, which is held by the Russian Valery Polyakov, who spent 437 consecutive days aboard the Mir space station in the mid-1990s.
On Monday, Scott Kelly handed over command of the space station to his American colleague Timothy Kopra, who remains on the orbiting outpost with Tim Peake and the Russian Yuri Malenchenko.
The next crew, consisting of the American Jeffrey Williams and the Russians Aleksey Ovchinin and Oleg Skripochka, is set to launch on a Soyuz rocket from Baikonur in Kazakhstan on 18 March.
